Revisiting Science
Research Mission and Methodological Statement
Harmondeg Institute for Philosophy and Practice
Revisit Science is an open platform for scientific inquiry and intellectual exploration established by the Harmondeg Institute for Philosophy and Practice. Grounded in the open-world perspective and generative approach to knowledge developed within Harmondeg Philosophy, it seeks to re-examine established scientific theories, research paradigms, foundational concepts, and their domains of applicability, while exploring alternative pathways for scientific understanding and discovery.
The development of science is an ongoing human endeavor to understand, explain, and transform the world. Established scientific theories have achieved remarkable success within their respective domains, providing essential foundations for human knowledge and practical advancement. Yet every scientific theory emerges within particular observational conditions, scales of inquiry, conceptual structures, and methodological traditions. Scientific progress therefore requires not only the continued refinement of existing theories but also a willingness to reconsider their foundations, boundaries, and the aspects of reality they have yet to explain.
Our research takes the world and its open-ended nature as its fundamental subject of inquiry, embracing multiple perspectives, levels of analysis, and interdisciplinary exploration. We seek to distinguish foundational observations, empirical phenomena, mathematical relationships, and established theoretical structures without dismissing the achievements of existing science. This distinction allows us to investigate relationships that may have been overlooked and to explore explanatory pathways that do not necessarily begin with the conclusions of established theories.
Methodologically, our investigations begin with questions and phenomena. They proceed through foundational semantic analysis, the identification of structural relationships, open-ended generative reasoning, mathematical formalization, and comparison across theoretical frameworks. Where candidate explanatory structures emerge, we examine their logical consistency, conditions of applicability, computational tractability, testability, and correspondence with empirical observations. Multiple explanatory approaches may coexist, and their scientific merit must ultimately be assessed through independent research, mathematical reasoning, empirical investigation, and experimental validation.
The research published on this platform primarily consists of exploratory scientific thinking, methodological development, critical reconsideration of foundational concepts, and the formulation of candidate explanatory approaches. Its purpose is to contribute fresh perspectives, analytical tools, research questions, and potentially testable directions to the wider scientific community.
The studies presented here have not yet undergone sufficient independent academic validation or systematic experimental testing. Their findings and proposed structures remain open to critical examination, revision, extension, and reconstruction as further evidence and research become available.
We recognize the achievements of established science while remaining attentive to the questions it has not yet answered. Revisit Science is intended to broaden the intellectual space of scientific inquiry, encourage dialogue among different research traditions, and create additional opportunities for future discovery.
We welcome scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and interdisciplinary researchers to independently examine, challenge, develop, and experimentally test the work presented here. We also welcome open, constructive, and equitable academic collaboration grounded in shared research interests.
